End Hunger Yolo

Despite our agricultural abundance, more than 20% of Yolo County residents are food insecure. Yolo Food Bank is the link connecting food providers, retailers, and farmers with those in need by sourcing, collecting, sorting, storing, and distributing nutritious food via nearly 70 partner agencies as well as direct distribution programs. The lynchpin of this important work is a new Yolo Food Bank warehouse and operations facility featuring state-of-the-art cold storage, expanded dry storage and food processing space, accessible loading docks, and more.

Canvas on Oil

Woodland’s olive oil is a staple product, grown locally and distributed nationally. The Canvas on Oil project launched Woodland’s agricultural initiative: The Food Front. The mural captures the essence of Woodland’s agricultural pride, brought to life during Woodland’s annual Dinner on Main. With the help of local artistry, Kinetic Ideas, and Cobram Estate’s extra virgin olive oil bottles, we were able to visual represent Woodland’s ag initiative, The Food Front.

Each olive oil bottle holds a piece of The Food Front’s on going story, acknowledging current partnerships and welcoming new ones. These artist original bottles represent the beacon for what we hope The Food Front can become: original, influential and inspiring.
