Family Owned & Estate Grown. Founded on sheep grazing property west of Woodland in 2005, Matchbook Winery has grown to produce about 200,000 cases of wine a year. Lane and John Giguiere – who met at Woodland High – run the winery, while John’s brother Karl directs the vineyard and farming operations. “We grow the grapes and process them right here,” says Lane. “The fruit never leaves the property.”

Matchbook grows about 15 varietals, including four different Chardonnays. They constantly experiment with new varieties and clones and produce six different brands: Matchbook, The Arsonist, Tinto Rey, Mossback, Chasing Venus, and Black’s Station.

Z Specialty Food

Z Specialty sources its honey largely from California and produces over 30 varietal honeys and its bulk packaged honey is used by almost every restaurant in the Greater Sacramento area. The fourth-generation family-run business is committed to crafting tasty minimally-processed honey at their home-base in Woodland through their zero-waste production process.

The Zeldner Family honey business began in Winters, California in 1979 as Moon Shine Trading Company and the business expanded under the name Z Specialty and moved to Woodland, California in 1998. Z Specialty is now in the process of building a brand new facility in Woodland, complete with a tasting room, event space, bee gardens, and a brewery and meadery.

Pacific Coast Producers

From Field to Can in Less Than Five Hours.

Pacific Coast Producers (PCP) is an agricultural cooperative collectively owned by over 160 diverse family farms in Central and Northern California. At home in Woodland since 2002, the tomato operation processes over 8,000 tons of product a day from 14 local growers, making it the world’s largest tomato canning plant. PCP’s Woodland facility produces over 250 varieties of healthy and sustainable canned tomato products including whole, diced, sliced, crushed, sauces, paste, and more. At peak season, PCP’s Woodland facility employs over 1,250 workers.

All of Raley’s private label tomatoes are grown and picked within a 16-mile radius of the Woodland Tomato Cannery – making the trip from the field to can in less than five hours.

Cobram Estate

From tree to table.

Cobram Estate has perfected New World production techniques, pressing olives within four to six hours of being picked from the branch, to make the freshest, healthiest, most flavorful olive oil. Founded in Australia in 1998, Cobram established its North America headquarters in Woodland, CA in 2015, producing over 3 million gallons of extra virgin olive oil per year from their family-owned operation. Their California Mission Variety was named the World’s Healthiest Extra Virgin Olive Oil at the 2017 Health & Food Extra Virgin Olive Oil Awards Competition in Málaga Costa Del Sol, Spain.
